Imparting fragrant herbs in rice is one of my favorite ways to enhance an otherwise muted starch. Unless it is a gorgeous pilaf, traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry spread, or sushi rolls dunked in soy sauce and wasabi, WHITE RICE is not going to make me do back flips like Mary Lou Retton. With that said, I love that rice is so adaptable and can take on a little or a lot of flavor.
